Market Update
What is it?
Regular analysis of market movements, focusing on the FTSE® 100 and major US indices, and incorporating significant economic events from around the globe.
How do I use it?
Our regular in-depth commentaries get you up to speed on the latest market developments, while also flagging forthcoming key company releases and economic data.
When is it updated?
Three times a day, Monday to Friday.
We post pre-market update, a late-morning analysis of morning UK market moves, and an afternoon update after the US market opens.
Forex Focus
What is it?
Live charts, commentary, forex Twitter feeds and performance breakdown for four major currency pairs: EUR/USD, GBP/USD, AUD/USD and USD/JPY.
How do I use it?
The Focus indicates historical trends and highlights economic data which could provide dealing opportunities.
When is it updated?
The commentary and historic data are updated twice daily, at approximately noon and 7.30pm. Forex tweets continue throughout the day.
Shares Analysis
What is it?
Our Broker Ratings show you the activities of ratings analysts, while the FTSE® Factsheet highlights the best and worst companies under a range of performance metrics. Share Focus provides a detailed pre-report breakdown of a single company.
How do I use it?
Laying bare corporate fundamentals, the Shares Analysis pages give you an indication of potential strengths and weaknesses which could affect share prices.
When is it updated?
The FTSE® Factsheet is updated around 10.30am each day, UK and Global Broker Ratings are updated twice a day at 10am and 2pm, and the Share Focus is usually updated each week with a new company.
Economic Indicators
What is it?
A breakdown of the economic data confirmed for the day, describing each indicator in terms of what it is, what it means and what's expected.
How do I use it?
Stock indices and their constituents, as well as forex, can be strongly affected by indicators of economic strength or weakness. Significant market movements can result.
When is it updated?
Daily at approximately 4pm, with data for the following day.
Commodities Update
What is it?
A weekly look at three major commodities markets, with historic data and analyst commentary.
How do I use it?
Analysis of historic trends and forthcoming market events could suggest short– or long-term dealing opportunities.
When is it updated?
Every Thursday, at approximately 12.30pm.
Monday Morning Briefing
What is it?
A breakdown of the coming week's major economic news and corporate reports.
How do I use it?
The markets are often strongly affected by the release of economic data and corporate financial reports. Our briefing lets you prepare for any resulting market movements.
When is it updated?
The MMB is distributed by email every Monday morning, before the UK market opens.
In-depth Research
What is it?
A detailed analysis of a particular market or economic event, considering the dealing implications and those for the wider markets.
How do I use it?
The full reports are only available to clients through our dealing platform, but excerpts can be viewed online. You can use these reports to support your dealing decisions.
When is it updated?
Once a month.
Chart Pattern Analysis
What is it?
Educational material on pattern analysis and our Autochartist software. Also includes in-depth commentary on three of the week’s exemplary chart patterns.
How do I use it?
Pattern Analysis can provide insight as to where the markets might be moving; this section helps you hone your skills.
When is it updated?
Every Tuesday, at around noon.
