New to Stock Indices?

Stock indices are one of our most popular markets, giving you exposure to markets like the UK FTSE® 100, Wall Street and more.

Deal on the world's stock indices

We offer bets based on the world's stock indices, including FTSE® 100, FTSE 250, Wall Street, US 500 and US Tech 100; Germany 30, France 40 and other European indices; Australia 200, Japan 225, Hong Kong HS42, Singapore Blue Chip, India 50, Taiwan All-Share, Japan All-Share and China H-Shares.

We also offer exposure to more than 35 sectors of the FTSE 350. These sector bets allow you to spread bet on a particular group of shares, including the banking and mining sectors.

Many of our bets on indices, including FTSE® 100 and Wall Street, are quoted 24 hours a day. This means you can respond to global stock market news and gain exposure even when the underlying market is closed. And you can deal with some of the tightest spreads around: just 1 point on FTSE® 100 DFBs and 1.8 points on Wall Street DFBs.

Types of Spread Bets

You can choose between a short-term DFB, to take a position on the immediate market direction across a whole market, or make longer-term futures bets to gain exposure to a market over a longer period of time.

By spread betting on index futures with us rather than trading the underlying futures themselves, you can benefit from some clear advantages. These include:

  • Our minimum bet sizes are usually smaller than the minimum transaction size in the equivalent futures market.
  • On major indices we may be able to take on larger trades than the available liquidity in the underlying futures.
  • We quote prices on the most popular stock index futures even when the underlying markets are closed. Take a position in the FTSE® 100 or Wall Street 24 hours a day, between Sunday night and Friday night.
