New to sectors?
Sector bets allow you to take advantage of strength or weakness in a particular industry.
They allow you to pinpoint a sector and target gains without diluting your profits with the performance of the rest of the index. At the same time they also offer some protection against company-specific news that can see individual shares buck the overall trend of their sector.
You can learn more about sectors, including what constitutes a sector and the advantages of spread betting on them by reading our sectors FAQs page.

Types of Bets
There are two types of bet available on our sectors: Daily Funded Bets and futures bets. A short-term Daily Funded Bet allows you to profit from immediate movement in a sector, while a futures bet gives you long-term exposure to a particular sector.

We offer a range of tools to help you keep up-to-date with global industries and markets.
Our introduction programme for new clients includes a free guide to spread betting and the financial markets, including shares and sectors.
For the first two weeks of the programme you can also start to spread bet from just 50% of our usual minimum bet size, so you can raise your bet size as you increase your proficiency at spread betting on sectors.
Spread bets are leveraged products. Spread betting may not be suitable for everyone and can result in losses that exceed your initial deposit, so please ensure that you fully understand the risks involved.
