Troubleshooting

I've forgotten my login details?

Please contact our Helpdesk and we will be happy to help.

What's my username?

You can always log in using your IG Index account number and password. In addition to your account number, you can also specify a more memorable username to use as an alternative when you log in.

Can I change my login details?

Yes. Once you've logged in, you can change your username and password as often as you like by visiting My Account > Settings.

How do I get an account number and password?

We will send these to you automatically when you open an account. If you don't have an account with us, you can use our automated form to apply online in minutes.

What happens if I enter an incorrect password?

After too many failed attempts, your access to this site will be suspended for security reasons. A message to confirm this will appear when you try to log in. Please contact our Helpdesk to unlock your password.

Why am I getting a blank page?

You may get a blank page when logging in if your browser or security settings are not correctly configured for PureDeal. Please see Settings for PureDeal for details on configuring your browser. Please also ensure you do not have any toolbars or plugins for Internet Explorer installed (e.g. Google Toolbar, Yahoo Toolbar etc). Unfortunately these toolbars can interfere with PureDeal's live streaming data. For details of how to uninstall these toolbars, please see Settings for PureDeal.

Can I use a Mac?

Yes, we support Macs running OS 10.3 using Safari or Firefox browsers. Please see System Requirements for full details.

Can I use a mobile phone, PDA or BlackBerry?

You cannot log in to this site using a mobile, but we are pleased to offer a full solution which is compatible with most devices. Please see Mobile Dealing.

Do I need Java?

No, you don't need Java to log in and use PureDeal. If, however, you want to take advantage of our charting packages then you will need to have Java installed. Please see Java for Charts for installation and download instructions.

I'm using the right details, but I can't log in

If you are using the correct username and password but can't log in, please see our System Requirements page to ensure your system is supported.

How do I enable session cookies?

Our platform and application form use session cookies to store information while you click between different areas. Please see our Cookies page for more.

How do I get rid of spyware?

Spyware and malware are small, invisible pieces of rogue software that you might have picked up while browsing the internet. They can interfere with many processes, including your use of this site. If you suspect it, spyware can usually be detected and removed by running anti-spyware software (like Ad Aware, for example, which can be downloaded free of charge from here.)
